HID, a global leader in identity solutions, has launched the Seos® Bamboo™ access cards made from sustainably sourced bamboo, free from PVC plastic. This card is part of HID's award-winning Seos® security solutions and is the first in the Eco Cards™ bamboo product line. The bamboo used is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), ensuring it comes from responsibly managed forests that benefit the environment, society, and economy.

Recent market reports, including HID's safety and identity verification industry report, indicate that most organizations prioritize climate and sustainability, opting for the most environmentally friendly recyclable materials possible, in addition to reducing energy consumption and waste generation.

The launch of HID's high-security bamboo access cards reflects a continuous commitment to innovation without compromising safety and user experience. Bamboo is a rapidly renewable resource that requires less water and pesticides compared to traditional card materials.

Martin Huddart, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of HID's Physical Access Control Business, stated, "HID has been working to provide alternatives to plastic identity cards for the past 10 years, launching HID Mobile Access® for mobile entry. The Seos® Bamboo™ card is an additional option to enhance sustainability within the building access ecosystem, making the value chain more environmentally friendly in areas that still require identity cards for access."

The Seos® Bamboo™ card also supports organizations seeking green building certifications, including internationally recognized LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) from the UK, and Zero Waste to Landfill certification.
